The film is a remake of the 1930 UFA film The Three from the Filling Station. It was one of a series of remakes made during the 1950s of major hits during the Weimar and Nazi eras.

The series, based on a popular novel of the same name, depicts the exploits of a Russian spy Isaev, working undercover as Standartenfuhrer Stierlitz, in Nazi Germany during 17 days in very end of WWII. Stierlitz has worked his way to the very top of the RSHA, main Nazi security and intelligence agency, without being caught. However, his "colleagues", top Hitler's officers Bormann, Mueller, Schellenberg are beginning to suspect him. Stierlitz is constantly walking on the edge between his two identities, sending information to Russia, while skillfully maintaining the appearance of loyalty to Nazi regime.

The events are set in Poznan, in late summer of 1939, at the onset of German invasion on Poland. They are arrested by the Polish police but then unexpectedly pardoned by the German consul, a liberal who reads Mann and Heine. The whole thing brings the brothers in contact with the 5th column. The question of national allegiance and family blood eventually divide the boys.

Built by the legendary Dean Jeffries, this Mercedes-Benz hovercraft originally had no motor, which is how it remained for filming. It was only after filming wrapped that a motor was installed and it was actually able to hover. We wish that's what Mercs actually looked like in 2001. It currently resides in the Justice Brothers Racing Museum, although it sometimes comes out for special events.
Its setting and characters parody the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as other sci-fi franchises including Star Trek, Alien, and the Planet of the Apes films. The plot mirrors that of the 1934 film It Happened One Night.

The film is based on 'Fikrimin Ince Gulu', a novel by Adalet Agaoglu, which depicts a first generation gurbetci/guest-worker returning home. It covers his land journey in short bursts from Germany to the Turkey's west border - and extensively from thereon to his village close to Ankara - capital of Turkey. He begins his journey purchasing a second hand yellow Mercedes - possibly his first car - using his meager savings working as a laborer. Offering deep insight into the mind of a manual laborer Bayram (Ilyas Salman) making his first trip back home, resorting to flashbacks in highlighting Bayram's motivation and experiences from his childhood right up to the events leading to his first departure from Turkey to Germany
This film, adapted from a novel by well-known Turkish novelist Adalet Agaoglu, is a perfect depiction of Turks living in Germany, their problems of identity, the situation of being in-between, i.e. neither being completely Turkish nor being completely German. Of course, Ilyas Salman's amazing acting, depicting a desperate man and his efforts to protect his beloved yellowish Mercedes (which he calls "Sarikiz"-"blonde girl") from the harsh conditions of Turkey is also something that contributes to this.

Le personnage principal du film est un jeune homme prenomme Noubi.
